Allie grew up in Crystal Lake and attended Shiloh Church from a young age. She was inspired by hearing missionary workers share in church and going on a mission trip with her youth group.
Henk is from the Netherlands but grew up as a missionary kid in West Africa and Papua New Guinea. We met in Amsterdam at a youth hostel ministry and bonded over our desire to serve cross-culturally.
We are part of One Collective, a global non-profit that works in communities around the world and is passionate about making sure no one is invisible and everyone has access to food, freedom, and forgiveness.
We have a relational approach to our work and organize activities for teens, youth and their families such as art classes, sports and outdoor activities. There is always room for conversations about life topics like culture, relationships and peacemaking. We hope to create safe spaces to share life in community, where Jesus’ love and the values of God’s kingdom are made visible.
